The journey of Puma towards success began in 1924 when two brothers with talent in manufacturing performance-enhancing athletic shoes, Rudolf and Adolf Dassler (later the founder of Adidas), founded the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory in Berlin and Austria.

In their mother's laundry room, the two brothers started their new venture. A stationary bicycle with a pedal-driven generator provided an alternative method to power their equipment because the city's electrical supply was unstable at that time. The Dassler brothers' wealth began to grow shortly after. The majority of German athletes wore Dassler shoes at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. After transporting a suitcase of spiked shoes from Bavaria to Berlin, the brothers persuaded American sprinter Jesse Owens to use them as the first sponsorship for an African American athlete in the Summer Olympics. Owens went on to win a total of four gold medals. Before the outbreak of World War II, the Dasslers were selling 200,000 pairs of shoes each year. This was the key to their discovery, both on a national and international level.

However, personal conflicts led to the separation of their assets and the division of the company. Rudolf Dassler started Puma in 1948, and the rest is history!

Puma, based in Germany, is today a prominent manufacturer of clothing for the Formula 1 racing collection. The company has collaborated with many famous artists and musicians, such as Rihanna and Jay Z. In 2014, Puma entered into a merchandising agreement with the Arsenal football team, and in recent years, it has partnered with soccer superstar Neymar.
